Our apologies for our blog shutting down in the midst of two expeditions. Hopefully, those following were able to see posts before they were wiped out, but if not, both Kilimanjaro and Alpamayo were completed with great success! We'll have some pics and stories up soon! Thanks for your patience. All should be running smoothly for our upcoming trips (Kili #2 and Mount Elbrus).

At the end of a very successful Peru season for Alpenglow and our clients, Jaime and Gordon were, unfortunately, faced with a difficult decision about their summit bid on Huascaran. They wound up making the call to turn around despite feeling physically strong, mentally prepared, and having clear weather. There was fresh debris from serac fall at 6300 meters and more blocks were waiting to come...

On Sunday morning, Jaime and Gordon left Huaraz for Musho to begin their climb of Huascaran. Below are the details they gave us of their time on Alpamayo, including photographs. We will be hearing more from them on Huascaran soon.

A quick message from Jaime this morning notified us that they were waiting in Cashapampa for the bus and would be returning to town today. We hope that a phone call tomorrow will reveal details of their journey!
