Climb Kilimanjaro

We all made it down in one piece, descending 13,000 feet in a day and a half. It was a long hard descent, but made easier by the beautiful rainforests and views, as well as thoughts of the hot showers and beers waiting back at our lodge. So everyone is down and looking forward to beginning our 3 day safari in the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania’s most famous game park, and a place with the world’s highest density of big game in the world.

And one other great piece of news for the blog – on the summit two of our teammembers, Gavin Woody and Sarah Ford, got engaged! Gavin had been planning this for a while, had a ring, and had practiced his proposal in Swahili as well as English. Sarah said “Ndiyo” (yes), making a magical moment for them at the summit of Africa, and for our team as a whole!
