A short text message from the sat phone:
“All of our team are back safely at base camp. The weather was just too bad — too much snow — to attempt the summit of Quitaraju, so we have all made the descent back to base camp. Another update from the sat phone:
“Today finds us all hunkered down in our tents at the Col Camp at 18,200ft. Our 19,512ft Alpamayo summit day yesterday gave us wonderful weather with blue skies, sunshine and views forever. Time for us to break out the ice axes! Happy to report that everyone is happy and healthy, with no signs of sickness. Tomorrow we plan on heading on up to the Col Camp...

We’ll find out soon! Tomorrow we start our carry. No Everest Sherpa here, so for the next 2 days our 6 climbers and 3 guides will be carrying all our own equipment up the...
