Tomorrow we begin the 6 day climb. Our first day is a 4-5 hour hike from the gate at 6000 feet to 1st camp at 8500 feet. We are climbing the rarely traveled Rongai route. More updates to come from the sat phone!

All Team Members Arrive in Tanzania

Climb Kilimanjaro Everyone arrived last night with no problems — all their baggage as well as all team members (very unusual for Africa trips!). Today we spent organizing gear and logistics for the expedition, as well as visiting a local village for a traditional meal and a bit more knowledge of how the locals live. Highlights included a visit to a coffee plantation and watching the way coffee goes from plant to drink using traditional methods.
