The French Alps this February can best be described by these two words – couloirs and sun. Due to big snows in December and January followed by two weeks of high pressure – the conditions have been perfect for skiing big committing lines that often do not get skied until April.

It actually feels a lot like April here – we are touring in t-shirts and lots of sunscreen, trying to time our descents with when the snow has softened the previous night’s freeze into perfect corn.

So life is good! We hope you will begin planning your ski trip here for next winter. The options are endless – touring or off-piste from the lifts, lots of ropework in tight couloirs or endless open bowl skiing in the sun.

Powder is coming this week, so the next blog should be filled with pics of skiing fresh white stuff!
Check back soon.
