Onward to Plaza de Argentina

Two mountaineers navigating a glacier on a Gasherbrum II Expedition

We got word last night from the team on Aconcagua at Casa de Piedras, where they rested after 2 days of trekking 30 kilometers up the valley. There has been a bit of wind, however, the skies are completely blue and the temperatures are warm, leaving everyone healthy and happy… especially after Gary’s bbq birthday dinner cooked by the burro drivers and topped off with brownies (courtesy of Desiree) imported from Miami! Today, the team will hike another 15 kilometers and 1000 meters to basecamp at Plaza de Argentina, where they will rest for a couple of days. More to come…
