Toclaraju, anyone?

After making the call to back off of Huascaran, our psyched and capable Peru team shifted gears and “pulled a power move,” heading up the Ishinca Valley, winding up at the Ishinca base camp hut last night. They moved up to Toclaraju high camp (~5100m) today, where they are now in the midst of some significant wind and snow, but they’re safe and sound and just hoping for a clearing in the morning to allow them an opportunity to summit this peak. They’ll wake up early and make the call, so check back to find out what decision they wind up making…. Good luck, guys! Our fingers are crossed for a weather window!
